If you are working on the Internet you are faced with a dazzling multiplicity of distractions. It would already be difficult enough if you only had those which directly connected with your job. One trick I've learned is to say "That looks interesting, but am I likely to actually follow it through?" if no then I forget it When I manage to get into the Zone, I find I can easily manage progressing 4 or 5 projects and find that stimulating.
